125 Year Old Woman Claimed Smoking Pot Everyday Was Her Secret to Long Life

A 125-year-old woman, said to be one of the oldest women in India, died at her home in Orissa, her family said Sunday. Fulla Nayak claimed that smoking cannabis every day was her secret to long life.

Fulla Nayak, a resident of Kanarpur village in the coastal district of Kendrapada, died of old age complications Saturday.

According to her 72-year-old grandson, Fulla was 125. But as per a voter photo identity card issued by the government in 1995 she was 120 years.

The grand old woman lived in a small mud-walled thatched house in Kanarpur, about 25 km from the district headquarters. She is survived by two of her four daughters and around two dozen relatives.

Her eldest daughter, Jamuna, 92, lives in the same village. Her husband died at the age of 50.

Fulla was in the news when her grandson Narayan Nayak claimed last week that she could be the oldest woman living in the world. He had said that he would write to the Guinness book authorities to record the claim.

Fulla was known for her love of smoking ganja and cigars and palm juice. She also loved steaming hot tea.

She had never suffered any debilitating ailment throughout her life. Except for her weak eyesight, Fulla maintained good health and used to walk without support.

Being a licienced medical cannabis user I can say Cannabis does not kill or make you insane, gov is making you brainwashed into believing this. There are many many medicinal uses for cannabis and I know of many people who are benifiting from it including myself . Do some research you will be pleasantly surprised of the studies and facts! As for this 125 year old lady she odviously picked the right medicine in my eyes!

dope does not make u go insane but it can cause some people to become very seriously depressed. 2 of my friends used to be heavy dope smokers and found that they were always very unhappy but as soon of both of them stopped they both became happier young men. on the other hand though it can have a very good effect on some people such as the one with this old woman. saying that this drug is good for you would be untrue and saying that it will make you go insane would also be untrue, what we should be saying is smoke it as long as it is not making you feel unhappy and is not putting you into to much financial difficulty. but hey its a free world and if it makes you fell good then knock you self out.

No possible chance these individuals might have a tendency to be depressed, unhappy, or lazy before they began to smoke? No. Of course not. I’m sure it’s entirely the drug and has nothing to do with the user.

quit calling it dope it is cannabis ganja marijuana. dope is heroin and crack and pills. dope kills and makes you do dumb things. cannabis calms and relaxes you. i think that is the main problem right there people call it dope and think bad drugs when really its a healthy habit that i think everybody needs to keep. who knows it might actually keep crime and wars down.

KD – you say you smoke all day, every day. You were motivated and not lazy, but you love smoking….
Have you ever tried to stop for a while…say a couple of weeks or a month…then, when you really, really want to smoke one, or include it in your life (if you do), then don’t “wake’n’bake”, just do what you need/ want to do during the day, and after dinner and all the ‘responsibilities’ are done, smoke a reasonable amount (not a gram blunt…) in the evening, just to relax.
I love cannabis, too, but, in moderation. If there are times I can’t smoke, for whatever reason, I don’t. I don’t fret about it, because I know I have the freedom to do so when I can relax and enjoy without impacting the other aspects of my life. Works for me, anyway.
Of course, if it’s all or nothing, you have an addictive personality (and we all do with one vice or another….I’m definitley not passing any judgement here…I live in a glass house, too), then you will have to prioritize your life. Make decisions you will have to live with, for now. Nothing is cast in stone until it’s on your headstone.
BTW – if you’re using this medicinally, disregard the above, as I have little practical experience with that, so, have an open opinion of that. I am fully supportive of medicinal marajuana use.

My brother had psychosis after smoking Cannabis. He did it for about a year almost everyday and he has never been the same since. He has heavy anxiety and can’t act normal. Can’t hardly speak to anyone.

I wasn’t against it at first but when I saw how my brother became I started to question myself. Ever since then my family had to struggle to support my brother to get a normal life in any way he wan’t it to. He almost killed my mother in a psychosis after smoking Cannabis. He broke her arm with a small table.

I think it’s rediculous that both the smokers and the once against say that the other side is using propaganda and my side is using facts. Maybe it’s like this. It is great for some. It is terrible for others. It could increase the life of one and devastate the life of anothers. Maybe both side have right. I’m just hoping that my brother won’t kill himself.

The bottom line is this. Sure smoke it if you think it’s good for you but it is a risk of leaving your life to the drug. Good luck!

my only son, since the age of 15, is a drug addict. his drug of choice? marijuana. although he would use anything that is available to him at the moment. joints laced with embalming fluid, (because “regular” joints weren’t enough), and the latest? joints w/pcp. herb (weed) is not good for everyone, not for me, my son, my sister, or my brother (now deceased from ms).none of us were on any “prescriptions”, all of us used to smoke dope, now–none of us (gracias a dios) use it. it is addicting, it is NOT good for everyone, my son’s father (jamaican) couldn’t handle it either even though he smoked all his life! addicted and crazy on top of that! rip, he might be dead by now. please don’t ever tell anyone, “weed is okay, it won’t hurt you”. you don’t know how it will react in someone else’s body, and whose body can’t handle it at all. everyone is unique, and their body is sacred. i don’t care how many people can use it safely–it almost killed my son!

      • Posted by Fred on July 6, 2011 at 6:43 pm

You just told him he shouldn’t assume, but you then directly assumed that his brother’s psychosis was caused by his prescriptions? (With no evidence on top of that) You honestly think you know more about his brother’s medical history, the history of a man you’ve never met or researched, than he does? It’s not right to make up history out of thin air just to support your viewpoint. You have no way of knowing if his brother was even taking any prescription medication. Be fair.

      • Embalming fluid is street slang for PCP, especially in relation to ‘Joints mixed with’ AFAIK.

Also, it is not right to compare smoking straight marijuana, to smoking marijuana laced with.. well anything really. Apples and Oranges (mixed together).

Yes weed can be addicting, however the National Institute of Health states that marijuana addiction rate is around 9%, compared with alcohol and nicotine which were double and triple that rate (or more). Also marijuana addiction is not ‘severe’ in that the withdrawal symptoms are minor.

      • I am a proponent of legalization… That being said, I’ve seen some legit research that suggests it can be a trigger for schizophrenia, for those that already have a proclivity towards it. Marijuana is neither good nor bad, but a tool to be used carefully. It’s a shame we can’t trust the government to provide us with good information.

I have seen people with abnormal reaction’s to marijauna. It can certainly be dangerous for some people. That being said it’s much less likely to cause psychosis than Ritalin, Adderall, or SSRI’s.

Not my original source but here’s a reference to the research I mentioned…

As I understand it, that study has been refuted several times already.

      • actually studies do show that marijuana does increase the likelihood of contracting psychosis drastically, it has to do with a persons brain chemistry, i myself have chronic depression, and have been incredibly mentally unstable when i was a teenager, started smokin pot and doing drugs, worked as an anti depressant, im much happier with my life now and im much more stable, my anger problems are under control and i think more clearly, so in all fact it partially has to do with the drug but the negative affects come from a persons brain chemistry wich they are born with

      • most addiction are are just habits.i was a needle meth user .i quit with only using cannabis.so i know what im talking about.i have been off meth 16 years .cannabis is not addictive it is habit froming.i stopped smoking cannabis for 15 year but have started back smoking cannabis after the dr told me they cant give me anything stronger.now i have start smoking cannabis .i have cut the number of my pain pills in half and i stopped taking 3 of them too.i have found a strain that has a nice body nubbing effect without getting me all stoned.there are people that can get addiced to anything but that doest mean what they are adicted to is addicting.i know someone that wash his hand every 10 mins .that would mean that washing your hand is addicctive.weed is not a gateway drug.i drank sodas before i did meth so now does that make sodas a gateway drug or coffee

It’s the DEA, not the FBI lol. They make a lot of money from busting big ops every year. Cannabis goes under review for possible rescheduling almost every year, and every time the DEA tells the FDA what to write in their report, so that the DEA can classify cannabis as Schedule 1 without taking the FDA report out of context. Or at least not too far out of context. Anyway, fuck the DEA, those corrupt ignorant bastards.

        Xamon,

I am totally with you on what you said. But I am going to post this comment for everyone to hear….

When studies are conducted for marijuana and health, most of the tests are done using {Joints, Blunts, Pipes, Bongs and use Lighters which contain BUTANE.

Lets look at those three elements a bit closer now:

1(Joints- Contain NICOTINE and other harmful things such as BLEACHES, TOBACCO and more.)

2(Blunts- Are dipped in solutions over and over and also contain bad chemicals such as NICOTINE and TOBACCO and more)

3(Lighters- Contain PURE BUTANE and BUTANE can lead to cancer and do many other harmful things to the body.)

So, lets get back to the studies:

They “study” marijuana using 1,000 – 6,000 people. They calculate the dosage in Joints, Bowls, or Grams. JOINTS are defined above and BOWLS need BUTANE(defined above) in order to heat and release the chemical compounds of the beautiful marijuana plant.

So the main question I want everyone to ask yourself is,

“Are they studying the affects that marijuana in its purest form can have on your health and mind or are they studying a mixture of BUTANE, TOBACCO, NICOTINE, BLEACH, and whatever other harmful chemicals are in the particular joint papers they use??

Because I am not trying to be a smart ass or anything but these studies aren’t accurate in relation to marijuana and health at all. Not everyone smokes joints, blunts or uses butane to inhale their marijuana.

I smoke weed every day. I consume probably the equivalent of 6 to 7 joints a day. 80% consumed by myself because I work at home and my friends and family work in town. I only smoke out of bongs(clean water), pipes, bubblers(clean water), steam rollers, gravity bongs(clean water), a 6ft bong(clean water), vaporizers…

And when I smoke out of my glass pieces I use something called a HEMP WICK. Which is basically hemp string dipped in bees wax and is wrapped like yarn or twine. You light the Hemp Wick and then it acts as your lighter. NO BUTANE, NO TOBACCO, NO BLEACH, NO NICOTINE, NO other bad chemicals that can damage health and mental health unless there are bad chemicals in the 100% Unbleached Hemp Papers.

Exactly what I was going to tell him. People just don’t understand how pointless it is to look down on marijuana for any reason. It is a great natural resource. Science proves it. History backs it up. And journalists can gather all those together and really see that the real picture is of a beautiful weed that can provide many useful properties and can help the environment and the world overall.

    • Persons with chronic mental illness die 25 years earlier than the general population does, and smoking is the major contributor to that premature mortality. This population consumes 44% of all cigarettes.

Cigarette smoking rates in the American population are approximately 23%, whereas rates of smoking in clinical and population studies of individuals with neuropsychiatric disorders are typically two- to four-fold higher.

Caffeine is most certainly linked with mental illness; psychosis even. Here’s some reading:

Broderick, P. & Benjamin, A.B. (2004). Caffeine and psychiatric symptoms: a review. Journal of the Oklahoma State Medical Association, 97(12), 538-542.

      Hedges, D.W., Woon, F.L. & Hoopes S.P. (2009). Caffeine-induced psychosis. CNS Spectrums, 14(3),127-129.

According to Bryce Tierney, Loughner, once said, “I’m going to lead a more healthy lifestyle, not smoke cigarettes or pot anymore, and I’m going to start working out.” Tierney was happy for his friend: “I said, ‘Dude, that’s awesome.’ And the next time I saw him he was 10 pounds lighter.” Tierney never saw Loughner smoke marijuana again After Loughner apparently gave up drugs and booze, “his theories got worse,” Tierney says. “After he quit, he was just off the wall.”

We can continue to blame, and attempt to prohibit, any of the above substances, but nothing will change except for the fact that criminals will become richer, terrorists will grow stronger, and our corrupt politicians will call for even more infringements on what’s left of our freedoms by passing laws that will take us even closer to total economic and social collapse. So pat yourselves on the back …as this ‘once great & free’ nation dies a little more with each passing day.

Alcohol causes psychosis, disease and bad behaviour, nevertheless, it is permitted. Since it is sanctioned, there can be no legitimate rationale for criminalizing cannabis based on psychosis or, for that matter, anything else. Alcohol is addictive, criminogenic, encouraged and sanctioned; cannabis is neither addictive or criminogenic yet it is vilified and made illegal in such a way that neither youth or communities are safe and there is more cannabis available today than there ever was.

so if you don’t smoke dope, why are you saying the brother is a “lazy douche” that also happens to smoke dope? how do you know what dope does to other people? as a matter of fact, marijuana actually INCREASES anxiety in people who are naturally prone to anxiety. info thanks to an anxiety therapist! no wonder i felt like crap after i smoked it! and it’s not accurate or fair to say “the psychosis was already there”. my son, neither my brother were psychotic before they started smoking dope. yes, it is the individual’s responsibility because it is their choice to smoke, BUT it doesn’t help them much when they are young and all they hear (and want to believe) is that it is “safe”, “non-addicting”, “won’t hurt you”, “just helps you relax”, “don’t worry about it, be happy”. sometimes i want to vomit.

I think it should be a personal choice. What is good for some is not for others but that is for the person to decide. Same with achohol and thats legal. Some people just make bad choices and don’t know what moderation is but its their choice

      • Posted by Eric on August 2, 2011 at 10:04 pm

The only reason cannabis increases anxiety to people PRONE to it in the first place is not because of the plant, but because they’re scared of getting caught. The only bad side-effects to weed is getting caught. Many may try to use the gateway drug theory, but in essence, it falls flat, since nothing in cannabis actually FORCES you to do so. The reason SOME people who smoke marijuana go on to harder drugs is idiocy. People need to learn to blame others for their poor choices, and stop using harmless foliage as a scapegoat.

      • Posted by Gemma on August 14, 2011 at 2:06 am

i have asperges and i can tell u it rarely increase anxiety , if anything it makes my anxiety vanish, yes others get anxiety and agreed with Eric its mainly because its illegal . i dont believe in gateway drugs , u could say fizzy pop is a gateway drink i drank that once and later in life i had alcohol ! its not the drug its the person who’s choosing to do so

      • “Associated with” is not the same as “causation.”

Schizophrenia affects approximately one percent of the population. That percentage has held steady since the disease was identified, while the percentage of people who have smoked marijuana has varied from about 5% to around 40% of the general population.
        Source: http://www.schizophrenia.com/szfacts.htm

Kindly Google any of the following combinations:

        Nicotine and Schizophrenia
        Alcohol and Schizophrenia
        Chocolate and Schizophrenia
        Sugar and Schizophrenia
        Gluten and Schizophrenia

So should we hand the market in any of the above substances to criminals (which is what prohibition effectively does) because its use is ‘associated’ with a certain minute part of the population? Many bipolar patients misuse caffeine and tobacco in an effort to bring on a manic state, thus becoming a danger to themselves or others. Should tobacco and caffeine or whatever works for each individual be prohibited to boost ratings or rhetoric also? Where does it end?

Why do you call Cannabis Dope? Your hurting the ones you love by calling Marijuana Dope. Heroin is Dope NOT Marijuana. In New York City if you want to buy Heroin you go to the right neighborhood and when you walk buy the man you just say “D” and he produces a small wax paper baggie containing approx 1/10th of a gram of Heroin, for $10, that was in 1980 I have no idea what it runs now.

Marijuana prohibition was initiated because people who smoked it. The laws continue in effect today for those same reasons. Politicians don’t like people who think for themselves, are independent, and who recognize bullshit. They would prefer for each citizen to become a subject, a ward of the state, who is dependent on gorvnment for making his/hers life decisions. Marijuana tends to let us develop different sets and set perceptions, to see the world a little differently. To change not only what we think but how we think. That’s what scares the regulators.

  12. Dear Nick,

I am sorry to hear about your brother. Such things are always painful and really make it hard to think of life in a positive way.

Using any drug too much will have negative side effects. This includes tobacco, alcohol and yes even coffee.
If you smoke too much tobacco you have a very high risk of lungcancer or cancer of the throat. If you drink alcohol too much.. well.. a lot of things will go wrong with your body and your life in general and alcohol is the worst in this group. If you drink coffee too much your stomach will deteriorate. If you use Cannabis too much your social life will suffer and if this continues for long periods of time the impact on your social life will make psychological problems much more likely, but Cannabis itself has no known significant long term physical effects aside from addiction.

I understand when things go horribly wrong you need a place to lay blame, but ultimately these things are the responsibility of us individuals.

Society used to place rules (laws) in order to protect the public, but these days they are mostly used to protect corporations and the financial prosperity of the nation.

It’s not all bad. Not all the time.

my social life has actually improved a lot since I’ve been smoking weed! I’m on the supporters side, and I totally agree that it reacts differently in different bodies and for some people it just doesn’t work out. For me, I believe that it brings me to parts of my brain that I don’t normally access which is definitely a cool feeling for me. Everything in life is about balance though and you have to find that point between too much and too little, and the fun part is everyone’s “balance” is different in EVERY aspect. I like ganja, I don’t believe it should be illegal. Other than that, anyone can live their life how they damn well please

Marijuana causes close to no physical addiction on your body, this means that if you do get addicted, you have an addictive personality and can only blame yourself.
You can smoke marijuana once a day for a year, if you stop you will obviously notice some changes but nothing even close to alcohol or tobacco or even caffeine.
As for social impact, you can only blame yourself for that as well, you have to apply moderation to every aspect of your life, including smoking weed. Most people find that smoking increases social interaction. You would have to give me an example but i’m pretty sure that nearly all negative stories that involve cannabis are actually at fault of the person taking it.
Environment is important. Surround yourself with people you trust and know and nothing can go wrong.

you must realise that grass has anti psychotic properties in one of the main chemicals and psychotic properties in the other. they ballance themselves out in normally grown canabis, but modern g m grass had increased the thc in favour of the anti psychotic properties, which are either lower or absent. So it does seem that the herb itself can bring on a psychotic episode in a person predisposed to the condition. However having been a long term user of the herb i dont think it has harmed me other than the act of smoking, i gave up tobacco 10 yrs ago and only smoke clean weed, pferably my own homegrown. I had a brother who died after yrs of mental health problems. I blame it on the psychiatract drugs the hospital got him into…………………………

  14. I smoked cannabis all my life, the really strong gear. I have at times blamed it for the mild psychosis I feel and depression I suffered. One thing it does is broaden your mind and make you think a lot about everything, If I’m honest I had deep rooted psychological issues before cannabis. Now did it make me think too hard about those issues till the point where I drove myself mad, or did it help me to resolve those issues and come to terms eventually with them and bury my demons. Both those things happened and I still smoke it, I now think it was already there and I was a timebomb. Cannabis may well have brought it round sooner but it also helped me back from the pit of despair. If it was to blame in the first place then I wouldn’t have got better while still smoking it? Just a thought!

People always jump to the conclusion that when somebody is smoking cannabis, even heavily, and they go coo-coo then cannabis is to blame! Do you realise the amount of stimuli felt experience subjects human beings to? People are so quick to blame this tiny factor of somebodies life to being the problem, when in actual fact they were probably using it to attempt to escape their problems. I’m not saying people can’t abuse cannabis, but their is NO physical addiction, mental withdrawral definetly, but its extremely mild even in the heaviest of users, caffeine addicts will find it MUCH harder to withdraw. The problem is governments deamonising a plant they know nothing about, their are no experiments being done determining 5 cigerettes is equal to one joint (Which is just absurd for many reasons), the reason cannabis is illegal is almost purely down to corporate ideology, Medical companies would lose billions, Oil companies would lose billion, textiles, foresting, construction, mining, alcohol & tobacco companies would all suffer due to the mass acception and application of medical cannabis and industrial hemp. This is the machine driving this propaganda. We are the side using facts to our advantage, cannabis sativa has been smoked for thousands of years and their is not one recorded death directly related to cannabis, in comparison, many widely accepted drugs like caffiene, nicotine and alcohol are blindly accepted to be safe because they have a label and are sold over the counter, even though they are the direct cause of hundreds of thousands of deaths in this country alone (UK).

    Here’s a quote –
While the prevalence of smoking in the total U.S. population is about 25 to 30 percent, the prevalence among people with schizophrenia is approximately three times as high – or almost 90% –
That quote is related to tobacco smokers and not ganja users.
So roughly 9 out of 10 schizophrenics smoke tobacco. Do you think there is a possible link there?

we all should not forget that cannabis strengest the mood where we are in.
This is the same for poeple who get psychosis. These poeple already sick without knowing it and would get the same psychosis on a later moment if they never smoke pot.
    Cannabis only triggers it earlyer.
Blaming pot for getting a psychosis is stupid and shows that the user is very dumb.
Its the same when you are in a good mood before you use it you get after using it only much more good mood.
The same for when you in a bad mood you get after cannabis use even an much worster mood.
Simply it triggers the state where you already in.
That it triggers psychosis is prooved but no reason to stop smoking cannabis when you in healthy state of mind.

  34. 1) Tobacco is cancer causing largely because it delivers specific carcinogens such as NNK and NNAL that are not present in cannabis. Not all “tar” is created equal, and tobacco has some of the most carcinogenic types of tar known to science, whereas cannabis does not.

    http://jnci.oxfordjournals.org/cgi/content/full/91/14/1194

    2) Cannabis (marijuana) use is associated with a DECREASE in several types of cancer… potentially even providing a protective effect against tobacco and alcohol related cancer development.

Donald Tashkin, a UCLA researcher whose work is funded by NIDA, did a case-control study comparing 1,200 patients with lung, head and neck cancers to a matched group with no cancer. Even the heaviest marijuana smokers had no increased risk of cancer, and had somewhat lower cancer risk than non-smokers (tobacco smokers had a 20-fold increased lung cancer risk). Tashkin D. Marijuana Use and Lung Cancer: Results of a Case-Control Study. American Thoracic Society International Conference. May 23, 2006.

Researchers at the Kaiser-Permanente HMO, funded by NIDA, followed 65,000 patients for nearly a decade, comparing cancer rates among non-smokers, tobacco smokers, and marijuana smokers. Tobacco smokers had massively higher rates of lung cancer and other cancers. Marijuana smokers who didn’t also use tobacco had no increase in risk of tobacco-related cancers or of cancer risk overall. In fact their rates of lung and most other cancers were slightly lower than non-smokers, though the difference did not reach statistical significance. Sidney, S. et al. Marijuana Use and Cancer Incidence (California, United States). Cancer Causes and Control. Vol. 8. Sept. 1997, p. 722-728.

In a 1994 study the government tried to suppress, federal researchers gave mice and rats massive doses of THC, looking for cancers or other signs of toxicity. The rodents given THC lived longer and had fewer cancers, “in a dose-dependent manner” (i.e. the more THC they got, the fewer tumors). NTP Technical Report On The Toxicology And Carcinogenesis Studies Of 1-Trans- Delta-9-Tetrahydrocannabinol, CAS No. 1972-08-3, In F344/N Rats And B6C3F Mice, Gavage Studies. See also, “Medical Marijuana: Unpublished Federal Study Found THC-Treated Rats Lived Longer, Had Less Cancer,” AIDS Treatment News no. 263, Jan. 17, 1997.

Federal researchers implanted several types of cancer, including leukemia and lung cancers, in mice, then treated them with cannabinoids (unique, active components found in marijuana). THC and other cannabinoids shrank tumors and increased the mice’s lifespans. Munson, AE et al. Antineoplastic Activity of Cannabinoids. Journal of the National Cancer Institute. Sept. 1975. p. 597-602.

    http://www.jci.org/articles/view/16116/version/1

So there we have it: Tobacco Causes Cancer and Cannabis Prevents Cancer (even when smoked!)

” Components of cannabis smoke minimize some carcinogenic pathways whereas tobacco smoke enhances some. Both types of smoke contain carcinogens and particulate matter that promotes inflammatory immune responses that may enhance the carcinogenic effects of the smoke. However, cannabis typically down-regulates immunologically-generated free radical production by promoting a Th2 immune cytokine profile. Furthermore, THC inhibits the enzyme necessary to activate some of the carcinogens found in smoke. In contrast, tobacco smoke increases the likelihood of carcinogenesis by overcoming normal cellular checkpoint protective mechanisms through the activity of respiratory epithelial cell nicotine receptors. Cannabinoids receptors have not been reported in respiratory epithelial cells (in skin they prevent cancer), and hence the DNA damage checkpoint mechanism should remain intact after prolonged cannabis exposure. Furthermore, nicotine promotes tumor angiogenesis whereas cannabis inhibits it.”

Before I started smoking weed regularly, I was severely depressed and had bad mood swings. I used to keep to myself, I had given up on getting gainful employment. My family was so worried about me.

Then I started smoking a lot of weed and I became more social and started looking for the answers to my problems. I found all the answers within myself. Cannabis does not cause psychosis……….it’s the people around the user who are being negative that cause the problems. Before I ever smoked any thing I was a typical school drop out. I had no qualifications & no idea what to do. I was 18 when I tried my 1st spliff. Im 37 now & have smoked cannabis every day since. In that time I have gone to University (off my own back) & gained a degree in Animation & Video production, I have worked on computer games & even worked in the UK adult film industry as a camera man/editer & photographer. I also taught myself HTML & a little perl/CSS so that I could design my own websites all while slightly high. I even passed my driving test 1st time. (I wasn’t high at the time!)
I have not had any major health problems (in fact the DR even asked what my secret is, as I have yearly check ups & according to my lifestyle I should not be so healthy?) I have younger friends who quit everything over 10 years ago, 1 has had three heart attacks, two are diabetic & a few are overweight & balding……..I still pass for mid twenties, I even got asked for ID when I was out on my 30th! Infact the only problems cannabis has caused me is the hatred I feel from all the hypocritical alcholics & religious nuts I’m either related to or have to work with, & the risk of arrest…….just because I use a plant to relax.
Anti cannabis propaganda & the BS spouted by the retarded goverment & the brainwashed ignorant masses is what causes psychosis.
( Please forgive any spelling or grammer……….I’m rrrrealllly high right now. -_- )

Oh it seems we are on the same old debate of white vs black. Inherited psychosis genes or marijuana making people going crazy, cigarettes vs marijuana effect on health. I want to reply to soo many things but i guess a small comment is best…… Humans are strong beings, with strong bodies that can easily go 100 years smoking pot or drinking booze, maybe the reason she didn’t have any ailments is because of marijuana PROVEN anti cancerous effects, or other health benefits, or maybe its because she had amazing genes that allowed her body to maintain strength where others would have failed. The marijuana debate is over, its status as a illlegal drug should not be based on anything medical anymore, even on the basis of induced psychosis, It is a moral issue nothing else, what are you allowed to put in your body? I think everyone is finally awakening to the lie of marijuana is bad for you. Caution should also be considered in saying its a miracle drug that does good for everyone, Obviously induced psychosis is not healthy, and those trying to refute those affected by marijuana personally should bite their tongue and accept marijuana is bad for some. To those affected personally i encourage you to find reasons for the unhealthy uses and abuses of anything of value, i mean too much water will kill you, too much fox will brainwash you, too much of anything becomes an addiction issue. Smoke pot if you want, and shut up if, you think your personal experience with psychosis or laziness or anxiety has warranted you to try to change the beliefs of others…… i think the most important thing to consider when talking about marijuana is not all marijuana has the same effects, there is a important synergistic effect of the combinations of terpins and cbd and thc and all other cannibanoids that is strain specific………. some marijuana makes me paraniod and anxious( last night i had a panic attack after smoking 5 hits of 100 percent hawaiian sativa honey oil, i felt haunted and scared in my own house) obviously way too much,… other strains like kush make me a lazy couch potatoe…… there is some that fall in between the couch locked feeling of high tch indicas , and quite the difference in pure sativas that can give you a clear energetic sociable effect, and those that are too racy and make you anxious…… those who are using marijuana for health reasons should be aware of the differences and seek out information that they are using a specific marijuana strain for specific ailments. Drop me an email if those with medicinal approved use need more information or links or even access to great medical marijuana strains or seeds. hyperspacetraveler@gmail.com

Cannabis, in the plant kingdom is in the grass family. Grasses evolved around the same time as humans. Grasses, such as cannabis, barley, etc., promote apoptosis a discovery at the University of California (I forgot which branch). Apoptosis is the natural death of cells and cancer is the uncontrolled growth of cells which abnormally continue to live.
Cannabis and hemp, being illegal, is the best example of empire world wide. Cannabis and hemp alone, if freed from being illegal, could diminish the industries of oil, cotton, drugs, and law enforcement world wide. Cannabis and hemp being legal could alleviate most of the worlds problems and balance the economic equality of the world. Just the thing the elite would hate to see happen. I am afraid cannabis may never become legal therefor keeping many through out the world from enjoying it’s many edifications.

There are definately people who should not smoke, drink or medicate. They just aren’t responsible enough to take care of business.

I’m 16 years old, started smoking weed when I was 12. When I was 14, I entered Highschool and started smoking weed basically every hour of the day. Eventually I started using tabacco with my weed to get that amazing headrush. After about 6 months of smoking weed/tabacco together I quit in 1 day no issues. I started back up about a year later when I was 15, I started smoking everynight b4 bed and then got into a nasty little habit. But that’s the thing, I wasn’t addicted, I had a habit, which again, took me 1 day to stop. For the people who say it makes you unmotivated, I use to hit 2 bowls before every single run and workout I did, I’m 16, started smoking pot AGAIN for about 2 months everyday now. Ever since I’ve started i’ve gained 10 pounds of muscle mass and am in the best shape I have ever been in with a body fat % of 9. Weed isn’t a fucking drug, it’s no different from a goddamn asprin. If you can’t sleep hit a fucking bowl, if your pissed off hit a bowl, and if you can’t stop then clearly you have no self control, because it isn’t hard. I know I haven’t had a long term addiction but my brother has smoked pot every single day for about 4 years now, and he can still not smoke weed for as long of a period he wants before he decides HIMSELF to hit a bowl. I don’t understand why everyone can’t do this, because I’m a varsity athlete in hockey and lacrosse and have been on the track team since I can remember. But hey, i’m just a lazy, unmotivated, dirty ass stoner right?

I’ve been in medicine for more than 20 years. I have worked in many emergency rooms and have never seen anyone die from smoking pot. I am 100% convinced that it should be legalized. However, I must say that this gal probably had a high alpha anti-1 tripson level throughout her life. If she hadn’t she’d probably of developed COPD from all the heat, smoke and resin build up in her lungs. Many people, atleast the ones who smoke excessively, develope COPD due to these factors. I also know that in some people THC can cause a significant rise in blood pressure. I am one of those people.

    • Actually marijuana has no association with COPD, emphysema. In fact it expands the airways. See the interview with Donald Tashkin on lung health on youtube, he was amazed that smoking marijuana opens the airways and has no association with COPD. Or read “Marijuana Gateway to Health” on sale later this month.

Cannabis is one of the most healthiest herb known to Man. Physically. Psychotically: it bring forth consciousness of almost everything, and it bring forth your TRUE nature. If your crazy, it’ll make you crazier. If your depressed person(Long term not temporarily), You will become more depressed, if your lazy, you will feed more into sloth. you were always a Sluggard. Your more Conscious about yourself and others. & Some people grow immune to consciousness & some people cant handle it. The older you are, the more you can care about consciousness of the state of mind I.E this 125 year old woman, she was most likely super care free. Some people should wait until there old with nothing to worry about , I.E a job, baby, etc. but dont give up in it completely . Blessings

The benefits of Marijuana are yet to be discovered. I for one will continue to TOKE everyday, becuz when pain sets in to my arthritis ridden body I know that if I toke the pain is minimized, on the contrary to Ibuprofen 800 which causes severe gastric disturbances. Marijuana all day !!!

What is with all these people saying “weed isn’t a drug”. IF IT DIDN’T GET YOU HIGH, YOU WOULDN’T SMOKE IT. I can guarantee you wouldn’t smoke it just to get hungry, you smoke it for 1 main reason, intoxication, and with that intoxication comes hunger or stress relief or whatever. It’s a drug, stop deluding yourself. I used to smoke daily and still do smoke from time to time, but I’m not delusional about it where I think it’s this miracle drug that the entire world should smoke, and most importantly I recognize why people smoke it in the first place above any other reason, to get high. That’s why people don’t care to go on Marinol even if it works equally as well, cuz you want a high just like a junkie wants a hit, it’s a drug plain and simple.

I have ulcerative colitis, so yes, I do use it just so I can eat. so do thousands of chemo patients and others with digestive problems. So fuck you mister judgmental fuck-stick. Not everyone who uses it is a retard, just like not everyone on painkillers shoots them into their dick.

may she rest in peace ,our governments should change the policy on cannabis,as it is natural and has pluses all round for the environment.it heals, feeds, clothes and fuels, yet it is illegal around most of the world.senseless laws, that are seriously outdated, time for change.

The only time cannabis will affect you negatively or harm you in any way is if you use contaminated samples i.e weed that is mixed or “seasoned” with cocaine, crak, heroin etc. So be careful where and who you get it from. Many ppl often use this and assume it’s the “weed” that has the bad effect when in reality its the additives that are really affecting them. Pure cannabis grown and picked and smoked will only have therapeutic effects, it’s a natural substance and therefore not really considered a drug. weed has no physical dependence, only psychological, so once your mind is made up u can quit. and may other ppl misuse weed the same way they misuse other drugs. just as you wouldn’t drink and drive, don’t smoke weed and do anything your body isn’t up for right after. it’s often carelessness and ignorance that harms ppl. know how to and also what you’re consuming. if it’s ur first time, don’t take more than you can handle and have a trusted person around to “keep an eye on you”

Don’t get me wrong, as a pot smoker, I’m against all the ad campaigns against weed and the harsh fines imposed for smoking it….BUT…I do think we should check to see what the rest of her lifestyle was like before just jumping to the conclusion that it was strictly the weed. There’s a lot of shit we do each day that’s killing us, and we could actually find the secret to living a much longer life if we check out ALL the factors….hell, we might even know for sure if it WAS the weed.

I’d like to add that the negative effects of weed come more from the fact that we shouldn’t really be taking burning plant matter into our lungs….also, there’s a lot of tar, which can contain carcinogens. This is the effect of smoking anything in general. That’s on the one hand. On the other hand, research has led some to speculate that weed does actually destroy certain cells in the body and that this can actually have the effect of PREVENTING certain types of cancers….mostly in the head and neck, since cancer is basically certain cells refusing to die and multiplying. These are just things I know I’ve read. I can’t remember where, so you’ll actually have to go and do your own research if you’re interested in knowing more (which is good, because you’ll be able to come to your own conclusions rather than just taking whatever you hear for granted….i don’t know for sure whether these things are true or not), but as a person who likes to be completely aware of all the effects of what he is doing, I thought I would pass it on.
